Movie Trailer Premier

Our project is to plan out, create and film a movie trailer that is not based off of something real we must get the audiences attention and leave them wanting more without giving away the end. We must have a dramatic voice actor that can expressively tell the audience it is a "Must See". This also requires a movie poster and give the audience the best of best quality. To contribute to this project I have done the VA Script and helped on the 4p's and K's.

Our biggest challenge is creating our movie posters since we don't really have any ideas that would stick out. Our other biggest challenge is getting our audio done because we don't really have a lot of time to record it because we are all focused on editing and creating movie posters. Our biggest success was meeting up to record and recording everything in one day. Another really big success was cooperating and not having any false meet ups.

Our project was critiqued and our project was pretty good.  I have learned that humor never fails our project was rated favorite out of pd 3. I think the camera quality was a bit messed up and that if we fixed it we could have gotten a 4/4. I also think that if we did a better job on the dubbing it could have been a lot better.

Metamorphosis Animation

Its Ashton again and today I'm going to talk about another project we have in our G.T class. This project it called the Metamorphosis Animation and our project goal is to create an animation that shows metamorphosis taking place. I found my team by asking two people I did not know very well and they are two 6th graders their names are Jazmyne and Anaya Alameida and I am planning to get to know them and my goal is to complete the project. We are planning on calling one of our animation ideas Kat respects community and the other Giraffe conquers heights.

Our animation focus statement is Giraffe conquers heights it is about a giraffe that is scared of heights and he and his friend go to a witch. The witch gives them a potion and the giraffe drinks it and turns into a cliff so the giraffe has to learn to deal with his fear of heights. Our first scene we will show the giraffe talking to his friend and our second scene would be something like the giraffe learning that he hates heights and is really scared of them. Our third scene would show the giraffe going to a witch. The fourth scene would be something like the witch talking to the giraffe and the witch is going to give them the potion. Our fifth scene would show the giraffe turning into a cliff and learning to conquer his fear of heights.


Yesterday we watched all of our animations and we then critiqued them. To make our animation get a 4/4 we could have edited our audio a little more and we also could have added more frames into each scene to make them a bit longer. I think our animation was ok because it could have used a lot more work but it also had enough frames and audio done. To make our animation better we could have added foley and more story to it. We could have made our animation quality better if we had more time and not having to worry about garage band and our audio. We also could have added more detail and more background into our animations if we focused more on details. I think our animation is still pretty good.

Geometric Portraits

Facial expressions are universal because they help explain your emotions. For example if I were to make a sad face it would show people that I am sad.  Facial expressions are universal because almost everybody in the world can show some type of emotion. A facial expression is a type of emotion being shown on a living organism's face. Facial expressions are very helpful when you are trying to tell someone if your happy or you are mad.

To make our easy poly we went to a website and uploaded an image of our face then we pressed a button and it automatically made a ok low poly design. We then edited the options on the website to edit what our image looked like.  We created our poly-1 by taking a symmetrical photo of ourselves on a low resolution camera. Then we loaded it into photo shop and made a outline using only triangles that are connected to our grid. After we made our outline we selected the polygonal lasso tool and we slowly selected triangles around our face then we worked on the parts of more detail and put a average blur over each triangle that we made. Then after we blurred all of our triangles we made a selected the outside of our outline and made 2 copy's of that selected layer. Then we turned our white background layer on and put the 2 copy's on it. After that we laid one side of the face on the left and flipped the other onto the right side to make it look like our face. That is how we made our poly-1 To make our poly-2 we took a photo of someone else and we imported it to photoshop then we selected our polygonal lasso tool and we just started making triangles that were connected to the grid on the person and used our eye dropper tool to select colors that are similar to the area we selected. we then selected around the person using the polygonal lasso tool and we then inversed the selection and we made our background look low poly.

Verbal Landscapes

I interact with nature everyday when I come home from school and sometimes when I walk to the bus stop. I interact with nature by walking in the dirt by running around in the grass. I also interact with nature by climbing trees and going to the beach. I also hang out in the sun outside when I go to the beach. Nature impacts my life by letting me adventure into random places I have never seen before. Nature also impacts my life by letting me enjoy playing in the water and having fun with all my friends.

A time lapse is created by editing the speed of your video and how fast it is. A slo-mo is made by slowing down the speed of your video. A slo-mo is made by slowing the video down enough to see faster things the eye cant really see by making the video a lot slower. A time lapse is made to show the time passing by quickly. A time lapse is made by taking a normal video and editing it to be faster. A slo-mo is made by taking a normal video and slowing the video down to have a slower more detailed video.

The hardest part of this project was creating a poem that is about nature. It was hard because I was confused at first on how to create a poem and the different types. It was also hard because I didn't know how to add words that rhymed in my poem. My favorite part about this project was editing because I got learn how to use Final Cut Pro X and I got to arrange and add titles. It was also my favorite part because I got to change the speed of each of my clips.



In our critique we over viewed every ones video and my video was voted exemplary twice, accomplished 6 times, developing 18 times and beginning once. I voted developing for my video because it wasn't 50-60 seconds long and my timelapses were a bit too shaky. To get a 4 out of 4 I could have re voiced my poem and retook my timelapses. Also I could have added more timelapses and slo-mo's I could have also added more keyframes on my audio and more titles on my video.  I think I deserve a 2 out of 4 because my total video was only 46 seconds and I wasn't finished fully.

Poetic Personal Statement

I think poetry is a sentence that's has a rhythm and expresses emotions or feelings. I think poetry is a way people put out feelings and ideas. I think poetry is used to give out a happy, sad, scared, or mad emotion that other people can listen to or read. I think poetry is used to show other people emotion or ideas that can have a rhythm. I also think poetry is a sentence that uses rhythm to make it come alive.

I used rhythm by making a good beat to my poem. I used rhythm because it makes the writing improved and to make a poem you should have at least a little rhythm in them. I used rhythm by rhyming alive with thrive and learn with turn. I used rhythm by having the rhymes close to each other but not to close. Rhythm is important because it make a sentence a poem and it makes your sentence come alive.

Our song is a love song so are storyline would be about loving something and thats what my team is doing we all are loving our things.  The storyline matches the lyrics because it talks about loving somebody but instead my team are loving items that we have.  The storyline is Brody has a phone Steven has a watermelon and I have bike.  Our song's story line is us loving our items and making it look so we cannot live without them.  Our lyrics match our storyline because the lyrics are about loving something and we are loving our things.

I don't have a favorite fast-edit montage because i don't really remember making one.  My team was just creating a music video without a fast-edit montage because I didn't really know what to do.  Im not sure if I have a fast edit montage.  I saw a lot of good fast edit montages in movies. In our music video we really didn't have one.

Animated Life Lessons

My teams personal and character traits are Hailee is a silly very immature girl that doesn't like doing her chores. Alaka'i is a nice person that can convince Hailee to do many things.  Ashton (Me) is a hardworking boy that will do almost anything to save the farm.  Our story exaggerates  who we are by making Hailee never want to do her chores but Alaka'i tries to convince her while I try to find a second job.

We use humor in our story by having to ask Hailee to do all her chores but then she finds a magical pumpkin  and Alaka'i sells it for $10,000 and we then get to save the farm. The message our story sends to the viewers is that if you work hard enough  it will eventually pay off.  It relates to our viewers by saying if you work hard and get it accomplished you will get something back in return.

Character Development

Hey I'm back with another blog post and in class we are currently making an animation and we are explaining who we are and I am a weird person.  Some people also call me funny And I am also a friendly person.  Some humorous and relatable imperfections I have are when i'm nervous my face will turn red.  One more relatable or humorous imperfection I have is when

The character traits that I want to exaggerate in me animating myself are me being weird and funny I plan on trying to do a little dance and move around weirdly.  I also want to make myself standing on the mountains and on trees.  I am also going to look like I am trying to fly. One more way I can exaggerate my character traits are bending my arms to form a little dance.  I also could walk across the screen.

The keywords in our movie trailer are Talent, Faith, Risk, Sacrifice, and Comfortable. The keywords connect to our audience by saying that you should take the risk and have faith in what you are doing. The keywords Connect with the audience because they are representing hope.

Our Message is to show that if you work hard and find your talent you can get far in life. Our message also explains that you just need to work hard and you can go along way in life. It tells you to succeed in life you need to find your talent and work hard. In our story we try to tell the viewer that you can do anything if you try.

Our teams biggest challenge was trying to meet up to do the filming. It was hard because our schedule was filled for the weekend so we had to meet up on Monday after school to start filming the rest of our movie.

Tiny Spherical Worlds

The point of composite images is to have multiple photos put into 1 to make it look really nice by putting them together.  If you put together the images it makes one that is different from the other regular photos by themselves.  When you have a composite image it Makes a nice image.

 The difference between a polar and spherical pano is when you are doing a polar it becomes a tiny world around you or the subject and  a spherical pano is like you are a ant and are looking outside of the world also in a polar world it is like you are a giant and in a spherical panorama you are in this cool world bubble.

My tiny world is convincing because it we edited the pictures used to make it more realistic. I also used the stamp tool to get rid of the line that went down the middle of my tiny world.  I also made the edges look like outer space to make it look natural. I also made myself huge and go into outer space I look like a giant.

Hockney Style Joiners

David Hockney's pictures are different from ours because he had many years to do and practice photomontages. He also has many different skills like a Painter and lots of abstract art.  David hockney also went to the collage of art.

Some images can send either good or negative messages to the viewer some negative images are put downs or bad things about people. Other good messages can have inspiration or motivation also maybe even some messages that say good things about you. There are many different ways to show this in a image like having something written or painted.

In my final image the message I want my audience to see is that It is very dark and I love the it when it is dark outside and in the morning. I also want my audience to know that it is dark and I am walking away from my house.  The reason I want my audience to know that it is dark because I love it when it is really dark outside.

2016 Aspirations

Hello 5 different thing I want to do in 2016.  I want to go to the beach more.  I want to get better grades by doing more homework.  I want to get way more organized with my school work.  I also want to get outside more with my friends and I want to play a sport.  Those are some of the things I want to accomplish in 2016.

My most important goal is to get way better grades in school. It is important to me because if i do get better grades i could actually get lots of A's on my report card and be a lot smarter and maybe one day invent something new and extremely useful. Also, If I get better grades i can get a good job.

These are steps that I will take to get better grades.  First, I will do more homework. Second, i will go to sleep earlier so I am ready for school. Third, I will always pay attention in class. Next, I will try to study more for tests. Last, I will do more work in class and try to finish it with my best work. I will also do all the projects they give me.

Scratch Game Design

Hey i'm back again and in user experience i know that you want your game to be fun and not boring.  The game should be fun and colorful or creative to make the players to play the game.  You should want the game to be challenging so they keep playing it to win or complete the level.  For example, the game should have lots of colors and fun entertaining add some effects maybe.

In my games one is a platformer and the other is a chase game in the platformer its a jumping game where you can jump.  The chase game is people chasing you and you earn points for evading the other sprites and not getting caught.

Hello there its me again,  We made our invention commercial and our main goal is to get a good grade and have fun.  We also wanted it to be funny and make it look like a real commercial.  Our team made the deadlines.  The commercial was ok coming from my view.  We meet most of the standards.  This project was important on our grade.

There were a lot of team moments where we were having fun.  The best team moment was when I didn't have the same shirt on so i had to wear Ashley jacket and it was big and fluffy and grey and holister.  But then we had to take it off because it was to weird.

Composition Scavenger Hunt

Hello its me again and I will be talking about which composition technique i think is most important.  I think that point of view is most important.  I think its important because it shows the audience what the subject see's and it will show them whats happening and whats going on.  Point of view is a good shot because it is of what the person, animal or thing see's.  Its also makes them feel like they are the subject and in the action.

I think that unusual angles is the hardest because you have to get the camera in a spot that's weird.  Thats hard because it will have to go almost under you or high above you or even to the side slanted. I can use unusual angle more in shots by being more creative.  It is a challenge for me because I am
not that creative.  I will use unusual angles more in my videos or shots.

My teammates Jhoanna, Ashley and Denae. Jhoanna has black hair and she is like a centimeter taller than me. She has a 9 year old brother thats her only sibling. Jhoanna put in the text layovers and she filmed a little bit.  Ashley has blonde hair and brown eyes.  She likes to do gymnastics and she has a dog and 2 cats.  Ashley filmed and did most of the editing.  Denae brown eyes brown hair with blondish at the bottom.  I call Denae "Da nae nae." Denae  did some of the editing and added he music.

Cracking the Code

Hello we are starting a new project we are coding in GT. Everyone should learn coding because if you don't know what code is you pretty much don't know how to use a computer. If you don't know how to code then when you want to create a website you don't know what to do also if you want to create a game. Coding is like the middle section of how to use a computer.

My first experience working with code was on Christmas I had a program that would teach me how to mod and code a game.  At first it was kinda hard but it becomes easier than before.  I have coded 2 times before and it was easier each time coding is fun.  The first time i coded i didn't know what to do but then i looked up how to and i learned from that.  When i started coding i thought wow this is hard i was about to give up but it got way easier.


If  could create any game, program or app It would be a building fiction game where there are lasers that destroy building's.  You would play by moving the character around in a sandbox.  You could build anything you can think of.  It would probably be a pc game because it is really big but it could made as an app.  You could do or build anything you can think of.

My Humorous Monologue

My current GT class are making a humorous video and I have learned a couple of things while making our humorous video.  I have learned from this project that you need to make it funny or else its not humorous. I also learned what b-roll is and a-roll and how important it is in a video. I learned that you need clear lighting and good audio or else you cant see or hear b-roll/a-roll.  I have also learned how to edit and create clips in Imovie.  I also learned how to correctly hold and use a camera what the different buttons do.

Pad is the extra time between the beginning and end of the video. Padding is important because if you dont have pad it will cut out your audio.  If you dont have pad and your audio or b-roll is cut out it will not play the video.  Padding is saying 3, 2, 1, Rolling then the speaker will start speaking.  You will have more time if you add pad to make sure that it doesn't cut out the video.

My weakness was adding transitions and effects it was hard because I forgot how to make them.  It was easy for me to import the b-roll and my a-roll. I could improve by adding transitions, effects, music and sound effects.  I could make my monologue better by having better lighting and more video footage and clearer audio. In the future I will follow the rubric to make my monologue into the exemplary section.

Comedy Writing

 Sense of humor in characters is very important because if they weren't funny everyone would be bored and most likely be asleep. The characters need some sense of humor or else they cant be funny. So then the audience will probably give it a bad rate. If you don't have a little bit of comedy it will be boring and not funny.  If you don't make it funny it cant make people laugh and have fun watching

Five tips for making a humorous narrative are always ask a friend to read it and ask if its funny. Never make a racial joke unless it with family or friends. If you cant think of any jokes maybe write sarcasm or you can look up jokes and take the structure but change it around.  Try to make your own joke and not take one off the internet or from your friend.

I made my comedic monologue by using sarcasm and doing the opposite of what people ask me and my chores.  I think its funny because it uses sarcasm and that I end up not doing it because I forgot.
My comedic monologue is me for example being clumsy and falling or not doing something. It is funny because I am having so much fun cleaning and doing stuff. 

Motivational Poster

We are currently making a Motivational poster and you need to have a manifesto and a list of personal quotes. You need pictures that describes you and a portrait. Then you need to design it with editing the space and how big your words are going to be. The color scheme will have 1 main color that goes with the other 2 colors. It needs to be able to see all the pictures and have them placed neatly. It also needs is to have colors to make it stand out and be able to read it.


First I went into photoshop and created a new paper then i put a list of personal quotes. Then I did research on motivation and made some of my own motivational sentences. Then i kerned my words to make them fit a perfect box. I added my 3 symbolic pictures and 1 portrait i put them in place and i added my text. To make my text stand out i gave it some text layers to make it colorful and stand out from the pictures. I finally put them all together and made my motivational poster. 


My biggest challenge was making the text layers and adding the pictures. I can improve by adding color to my text and making it stand out of the pictures. I can also improve by my coloring my pictures and adding curves to make it look better. I could also make the text into a perfect box so it would have a better shape. It could be better if I put the pictures into a better shape and having each bigger than the other.

Personal Manifesto

Hi my name is Ashton I will be sharing 5 interesting facts about me are : I have Blonde hair and I have 6 pets 3 dogs, 2 cats and 1 guinea pig. My favorite fruit is Mango. My eye color switch colors over time from blue to greenish blue. I am currently 11 years old. My favorite hobby's are surfing and gaming.
